President Joe Michael favored the 1945 monthly class luncheon at the Norwich Inn in November with his always-welcome presence. He had spent the morning with various offices at Blunt doing our class business. The class has authorized $1,500 for an exhibit to be set up in Thompson Arena as a 100-year history of Dartmouth hockey. It will include a picture and mention of team captain Charlie Holt building the 46-game unbeaten streak in 1945 as well as his being Hall of Fame coach at the University of New Hampshire. I am happy to report that the 1945 weathervane on the Hanover Inn corner is in good working order. It looks impressive as well. Also on this subject, Dick "Bull" Hinman has been successful in getting the stone and plaque for Pete Brundage installed at the new Dartmouth Skiway lodge. The class of 1945 raised funds for the granite post. This war memorial was not included in the recent memorial booklet by professor Charles Wood since it is not on the Dartmouth campus. The plaque reads: "The Peter Brundage Lodge was given In Memory of Pete Brundage, class of 1945, Second Lieutenant, United States Marine Corp Reserve, Killed in action, Okinawa, May 3,1945. Dedicated by his friends in the Outing Club who felt the impact of his Enthusiasm, Leadership and Friendly example and shared his love of the ourdoors. This lodge was the gift of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Brundage, Class of 1916, September 28,1958." Dartmouth alumni from the classes of 1958 through 2 000 have fond memories and fun times associated with the Brundage Lodge.

Joe Michael has been working with the proper people in the College to have better guidelines on how to use funds from the 1945 endowment for students, not faculty, who have economic needs, on a fair and equitable basis. The correct address for Paul Caravatts 1945 class Web site is www.alum.dartmouth.org/classes/45/45.html Hit "Enter."

Don't forget the mini-reunion in Quechee, Vermont, September 27-29 with the New Hampshire football game.
