Summer already?! After five years as your scribe I have, by the time you read this after the reunion, passed the baton to another classmate. It's been fun—thanks for all your support!

Here are the results of the survey I sent by email to a number of you back in April. First off, I gotas many bounces as replies, telling me clearly that you need to update your e-mail address with the College! Next, there was a whopping 44percent response rate (gee, maybe I'm onto something here). And last, your answers: Question 1, number of jobs (companies) since graduation—average 3.3, range from one to nine (nearly one third of us have held only one job since '72); Question 2, years before retirement-average 10.1, range from one to 20-plus (no one in my poll has retired yet, with many responses such as "what?"); Question 3, weight difference since graduation—average 14.2 pounds, range of five less to 40 plus; Question 4, odds on attending the 30th—average 31 percent, so I bet the turnout was good! And in conclusion, Question 5, winner of this year's World Series—Yankees, Sox, Mariners tied with Giants and Indians, with votes also for Australia, the Canucks and several other teams...but we all know it s gonna be the Ms this year, right?

Lots of news tacked onto your survey responses, including these points from Kip Ault: "I joined Charlie Shockey for lunch at the Portland airport as he came through town to make a flight connection. He managed to get through security without any problems despite carrying a large, suspicious-looking bag of ripe California strawberries. Our daughter, Kori, is a high school junior earning all the right kudos and will accompany me to check out Dartmouth [at the reunion]. Our eldest son, Toby, received a Watson Fellowship and departs August 15 to retrace Darwin's voyage on the HMS Beagle. He will spend most of his time in South America describing sites recorded in Darwin's journals—and enter photos and comments on a Web site tracking his progress."

And from Bryant Toth: "I have been a plastic surgeon at one location since finishing my training. Why leave San Francisco? I greatly enjoy what I do and will probably do it for another 10 to 15 years or until someone can do it better than I can. Two tuitions next year at Deerfield Academy will also be a motivator for continuing to work."

Writes David Watters: "With funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the University of New Hampshire Foundation, I am establishing a Center for New England Culture at UNH. It will foster scholarship, teaching, and outreach about New England, past and present."

All for now. Keep those emails and letters coming and I will forward them!
