Booking forward, at this writing, to the mini-reunion in the Northwest but to you readers it will be history past. At least it will provide fodder for the column, which the summer has not.

E-mail advice from our president Woody Goss to the editors of our 50th reunion Joe Mathewson and Jim Perkins resulted in an appeal to appear in this column. Classmates will receive two questionnaires this fall: the first, a didactic resume of our lives accompanied by a close-up photo (no passport pictures please); the second, an anonymous questionnaire (to be returned to the University of Chicago for tabulation) about other aspects of our lives. It is essential that everyone respond.

On a lighter note, it is a great pleasure to announce that the John C. Glover Fund for the support of the swimming team has reached its goal of $2 million—thanks in part to our classmate, John Ballard. With this infusion, the team shall survive well into the future. As previously noted in the last issue John and Harry Lewis have their work cut out for our 50th reunion fund.

Ski Magazine's May/June issue featured Mark Elsbree '87 on its cover. This handsome dude bears no physical relationship with his father, Gene Elsbree, but those things happen.

It's difficult to fathom how Gordie Russell finds enough hours in the day to do what his press releases say he does. When you think of a laidback Dartmouth goalie of yesteryear, it becomes even more of a mystery. He recently became a trustee of a Community Health Center in East Palo Alto. It treats low-income and uninsured residents, perhaps a large part of the unemployed "dot-comers." Seriously, Gordie has served on several medical foundations including the chairman of the board of overseers at Dartmouth Medical School and deserves our exuberant applause.

Doug Melville spent a few days with Jim Wiggins in Fort Lauderdale visiting Jewell recovering from recent surgery. Our best to Jim and Jewell.

My apologies Buck on the typo, it could have been worse??

Our condolences to Yudi Bennett, wife of Robert Schneider, who died June 6 from lym phoma.
