Hail noble '72s far and wide! My pleading paid off, for I've had the great pleasure of receiving news from or about some of you in the past few weeks. Here 'tis!

Andy Harrison checks in with best wishes and to let us know that he and Adrienne have just returned from an 1,800-mile jaunt to/from Atlanta delivering youngest daughter Rachel to Emory University, where she has begun her own college odyssey. Rachel participated in Emory's Freshman Trips program much as we did 35 (wow!) years ago. Rachels trip section went caving in Alabama. She's now settled in to the world of academe and the rigors of courses in calculus, chemistry, Latin and anthropology. Andy's jealous of her opportunities but not the coursework. He and Adrienne can now relish the joys of "empty nesterhood."

Andy also shares that he was in Lyme, New Hampshire, on August 16 for the 90th birthday party of his dad, Len '34. This unofficial Dartmouth event was co-hosted by Andy's brother, Walter '66, and among the 28 relatives present were Lens cousin, Lloyd Markson '35, and Andy's cousins, Rob and Al Sinsheimer, '75 and '77, respectively. Len, apparent founder of a Dartmouth dynasty, nowlives at Kendal at Hanover and keeps his mind sharp attending ILEAD (Institute for Life-long Education at Dartmouth) classes as often as possible. Congrats and best wishes, sir!

From our class leader Jon Einsidler I heard that Chip Carstensen, wife Marilynn and son Drew (daughter Haley was away at camp) hosted what became a mini-mini-reunion in Princeton on August 10. Jon, Karen and their kids drove south to attend, along with Mike Sack, who had been up to Princeton just the day before to pick up his daughter, Myra, at soccer camp. Mike turned around and came back up on Sunday, solo (wife Sandi headed south to pick up their son, Jacob, in D.C., where he was at a high school leadership conference, and other daughter Leah was away at camp).

The Einsidlers were then surprised when Ted Lippman, wife Ethel and son Joel (sophomore at Rutgers) showed up. Their other son, David is working for Aramark in Oakland, California, when he isn't surfing. The empty-nesting Lips have taken up real estate as a hobby, selling their house outside Atlantic City, buying then selling a condo, and building a new house in a more wooded part of southern New Jersey. Lip reports the beverage business is good, particularly with the opening of the newest hotel/casino in Atlantic City.

Then Fred Crossman (east from Chicago) and J.C. McKenzie (south from Connecticut) rolled in. Investment banker J.C., Fred and Jon opined on the market, deals and life as they know it.

Jeff Smith '71 cruised through on his bon voyage tour in a hot red sports car. As you read this, Smitty, one-time class of' 72 mascot, is on a one-year teaching stint in Kuwait.

Egads! I'm out of space already, my friends, but more news is always needed! Keep writing!

Best wishes always in Green.
