News from the New York Business Wire reports that Hugh Frater, president and CEO of Anthracite Capital Inc. (NYSE: AHR), realized significant progress in deploying excess liquidity into the commercial real estate assets over the past year.
Received a news article in the mail about Buddy Teevens '79, now the new football coach at Stanford. Buddy talked to a group of Dartmouth alums in Atherton, California. Could not help but notice Bill Hooper, who was in the photo with Buddy along with alumni from the '50s, '70s and '80s.
Ran into Missy Attridge at the Dartmouth Club of Washington annual holiday party; she had just returned from Alumni Council weekend. The best news is that her son Jimmy, received his early decision letter (or e-mail) from Hanover and is an '07. Way to go, Missy!
Also Sandy Woods son, Todd (his sister, Brooke, is an '05), will be matriculating with Missy's son Jimmy. And joining Missy's and Sandys teenagers will be another legacy in the class of 2007, whose dad just happens to be Jim Beatty '76. By the way, if you haven't read Sandys entry in the 25th reunion yearbook, dig it out and enjoy. It's a hoot!
Missy received a note that Nancy Jackson Hodin's elder daughter, Jessica, has also been accepted early decision. They are all thrilled! And so the next generation takes its place.
At times we have those "moments" when we can't quite remember things. The other day I was wondering what happened to the fleece vest that I had ordered at the 25th reunion. Then I go home and there is a package for me, and it is the vest! I will wear it proudly this winter season.
