Michael Mosher is a professor at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan. Michael sent me a note to say that the best book he read this summer was When Gods and MortcilsMeet: Continuity and Renewal in Urhobo Art, edited by Perkins Foss. In spring 1977 Perkins Foss taught one of Dartmouth's best courses, "The Will to Abstract." Many of you recall when Foss—the first student of Yale's great Africanist Robert Farris Thompson—taught at Dartmouth.

On October 19, 2004, United Bio Source Corp. (UBC) announced the appointment of Michael Choukas to the executive leadership team. Choukas will serve as the divisions executive chairman. As executive chairman Choukas' responsibilities include expanding the service of- ferings and extending the international reach and capabilities of subsidiary B&B Clinical Innovations, and leveraging UBC's capabilities to provide clients comprehensive solutions for late-stage clinical development and product commercialization. Mike began his career in Washington, D.C., where he held several staff positions in the U.S. Senate. Choukas also holds a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University.

Good news from South Florida! Aimee Kent Ballantyne received the Good Neighbor Award from the East Neighborhood Association of Wilton Manors. The awards included a certificate that reads, "The Good Neighbor Award," presented to Aimee Ballantyne; a certificate redeemable for a year's free membership; $10 off a meal at a local Chinese restaurant; $25 off service at Barton and Miller in Wilton Manors; and a check for $40 for The Buzz, a newsletter that Aimee has been putting out for more than a year.

Lee White on December 1,2004, was hired as the first COO at Zyman Group, a leading international management-consulting firm head- quartered in Atlanta. Before joining Zyman Group, White was chief operating officer and president at Commerce Quest Inc. He brings mote than 20 years of experience in operations, general management and strategic leadership at leading consulting firms, including IBM and KPMG.As co-founder and managing director at Answer Think Inc., White helped grow the company from a startup to $311 million in revenues between 1997 and 2001. After Dartmouth Lee earned an M.B.A. in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago School of Business.

Missy Attridge received the Dartmouth Alumni Award from the College back in De- cember. Through the years Missy has been very active as a district enrollment officer and mem- ber of the Alumni Council and the Dartmouth Club of Washington. Missy was presented the Alumni Award at the Dartmouth Club of Wash- ington's annual holiday dinner. Missy was joined by family and friends, including her freshman roommate Pain Gruninger Perkins, as well as Susan Dentzer and Mike Carter. Amy Cholnoky was also named an Alumni Award winner this year, and she will be getting her award at the Alumni Council May meeting.
