I Greetings, '72s far and wide! Summer must be upon us for as I write this the news from the hinterlands has slowed to a trickle and that is being generous! Actually, my esteemed colleague and co-scribe John Rockwell wrote such an excellent newsletter that I'm left with little to report. Thanks a lot, John (kidding!).
I did hear from David Watters, who has been elected as a trustee of the New Hampshire Historical Society. At the University of New Hampshire (UNH) he's now the director of the Center for New England Culture. He also received the 2003 UNH Award for Excellence in Public Service. A professor of 25 years at UNH in English and American studies, David lives in Dover with his wife and their 11-year-old son. Nice work, David!
So where are the rest of you guys? Planning vacations? On vacation? Recovering from vacation? Recovering from college and/or high school graduations? And lets not leave out reunions. Ma Nature didn't treat our brothers in the class of '73 any better than she did us last year but I can assure you they had a roarin' green time of it just as we did! Much fun and frivolity all around under the able tutelage of reunion chair Bill Barr. I think they borrowed a page or two from our play book, though.
So this column is (mercifully) short and sweet as yours truly rides off into the sunset on his vacation, too. May all that is good and much peace and tranquility be with you and yours throughout the summer!
Yours in the wearing of the green!
