Hail, fellow '72s well met! At about the time this reaches you, we wil be saying farewell to another graduating class and welcoming them into the ranks of our fellow alumni. Immediately thereafter our brothers and sisters will descend upon the Hanover Plain to reunite and share good memories and cheer, as we will again soon in 2007. Ah, how quickly the years pass! Living locally and working on campus, this is a very sentimental time of year for yours truly.
Greg Yadley has been feted by Leadership Tampa Alumni with the Parke Wright III Leadership Award. Known and respected throughout the greater Tampa area for his active involvement and support of the arts, Greg follows in the footsteps of the man for whom the award is named in promoting a vibrant cultural community for youth and adults alike. Congratulations, my friend!
Wayne Young and I recently crossed paths at a Dartmouth baseball game. Wayne, ever the youngster, is especially excited to see the Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse and fields nearing completion, and gents, fine facilities these are! They will be formally dedicated on the weekend of September 23. One of Dartmouth's most successful sports, club or intercollegiate, rugby continues to garner a lion's share of wins. On April 10 the men brought the Ivy championship back home again. The team competes successftilly and perennially at the national and international levels. For the inside scoop check out www.dartmouth. edu/~ rugby.
Nottoolong ago I ran into an old friend and classmate, Mike Heeremans. Mike and Lee Anne, with offspring Kathleen and William, have been based in Hartford, Vermont (better known to us locals as White River Junction), for most of the years since we graduated. He's made a respected career of teaching in the Hartford school system. Lee Anne is embarking on a new career path in medicine. Good folks, these, and I might add among the most ardent Dartmouth hockey supporters—I see them at nearly every game even if we don't have a chance to chat!
I hope folks looked long and hard at the wonderful opportunities to get together this summer courtesy of Shel and Bill Schur as relayed by John Rockwell. Whether you are from the east or the west, please join us for the festivities!
Hope to see you this summer! Yours in green always.
