We're happy to make known to 1933 one of the benefits of our extended survivorship. The Dartmouth College Library, through the agency of Patricia Frazer, its efficient operative, has informed us that the class will no longer have to finance the memorial book program for deceased members. This is the program under which we have paid for a unique book to be given to the library to honor each classmate who has died. In each case, notice of the class action has been given to the family of the decedent. Needless to say, those informed have greatly appreciated this thoughtful action of the class. Now, with a decreasing treasury, we are guaranteed that the memorial gift will continue to be designated without burdening the available funds. This is a basis for thanks and I have told Tricia of our gratitude.

Just don't feel any obligation to immediately set the procedure into operation personally.

Watching the Olympics, we wondered if Manny Sprague, of our championship team, saw chose water polo games and thought back to his performances in the Spaulding Pool. The water he swallowed!

Although we are writing this in August, it will be appearing in the latter days of this mad, wearing, boring, phenomenally expensive and wasteful campaign. Why we can't operate as other civilized nations do, this former parliamentarian can't understand. It's America, it seems. Hope you're all satisfied with the result.
