Exciting things are happen- ing with Gary Prisby. Gary and his wife, Darlene, are heading west. Gary and Darlene met in 2 002, when Gary and Rick Escherich were in the Upper Valley on a weekend golf outing. Gary and Darlene were married in September 2003. Gary wrote this past June that he had sold his gallery and frame shop in Rowley, Massachusetts, near Danvers, where he had grown up. Now Gary and Darlene are moving to Durango, Colorado, where Gary has regularly vacationed in recent years. Best wishes to them as they trade the North Shore for the Rocky Mountains. By the way, besides playing golf with Gary, Rick has been busy paying Dartmouth tuition bills. Rick's son, John, joined the Dartmouth family this fall as a member of the class of 'OB, following in the footsteps of his sisters, Katie '02, and Megan '05—a clean sweep.
Mark Schulte has set up his own shop in midtown Manhattan. Mark left Merrill Lynch in 2 002 and established his own financial advisory firm, Taurus FC LLC, that focuses on assignments in the transportation field. Recently Mark was involved in the successful recapitalization of Hawaiian Airlines to bring it out of bankruptcy court protection.
Two of the busiest people around are Steve Severson and Martha Hennessey, Ph.D. '76. Steve and Martha moved back to Hanover in 2001. Steve and Martha are buddies of mine from Glee Club days, and music is still a presence in their lives. When they returned to Hanover they joined the Handel Society along with their older daughter, KJ 'O2. KJ was a music major at Dartmouth and is now applying to medical schools. (Sounds like our own Eric van Leuven.who was a music major, went on to Dartmouth Medical School and is now a practicing psychiatrist in Lancaster, New Hampshire.) Steve has earned soccer coaching licenses from the U.S. Soccer Federation and the National Soccer Coaches of America, which he has put to good use coaching younger daughter Lizzys soccer team and the Dartmouth women's JV soccer team. Steves Colorado roots have also been showing as he coached skiing at the local Ford Sayre ski club and at Mt. Ascutney. This fall Steve joined the math department atThetford Academy, where he teaches middle and high school students.
Kirk Hinman, our class treasurer, sends along a friendly reminder to all who have not yet paid their annual class dues: Send him a check. More than half of the dues covers your subscription to this magazine, and most of the balance covers the cost of the class newsletter.
I need your help to make this column successful. Please send me news, or I could be forced to invent entertaining stories about you. Alternatively, for some of you I could reveal information about actual events that occurred in Hanover more than 30 years ago that would be far more embarrassing than anything I could possibly fabricate.
