I have just heard Sandra Hoeh, the new Dartmouth director of community relations, describe the College's efforts to inform the citizens of the town of Hanover about its construction plans. Such plans include new dormitories forup to 600 more beds.As that proposal has been discussed I have heard some alumni challenging the need for more campus housing. One of the people doing that had fun in housing off campus and wondered whether or not students really wanted to live in dormitories. I thought the question might have occurred to '45s reading this column so I have checked with several qualified sources to find that there is a large group of current students that would prefer to live on campus for which there is no room.

Steve Hull's widow, Jean, has been busy this past year continuing Food for the Poor, a project both she and Steve had started earlier. We look forward to seeing her at future reunions. Richard "Dick" Momsen and Bobbie reported to Frank Aldrich that they had confined their 2003 travel to Canada and Newfoundland, but found it just as interesting as the Amazon the year before. Lucianna and Henry Dutcher are in the process of selling their house in upstate New York and heading south. He will take his new knee replacement with him when they make the move. Helen and Dave Mott report that they miss the snow connected with living in the north. It was too hot in the sum- mer, but very nice in December in Summerfield, Florida. Katarina "Kitty" and Bob Cate enjoyed their 50th anniversary in warm Tucson, Arizona, where they have just finished a 10-year project to publish his wife's second book. It is about "friendship with a prominent Black Carnival club leader who was 'king' of one of the exciting Maracuta Nation groups in Recife." It is quite elegant and is in the Portuguese language. The book is published in Brazil Joanne and Jack Nuber report from Fort Myers, Florida, that it must be the "Nubar black beans" that are keeping them from aging and are healing him from the various age-related ailments with which he and his doctors are dealing. Don't forget the mini-reunion September 24-25 with New Hampshire football.
