I recently received a wonderful letter from Morty Blum, along with a reprint, from a regional newspaper showing him working out and explaining how he keeps in great shape. Accompanying this was a letter from him telling how happy he was after throwing a bash with his whole family for his 90th birthday. Right on the heels of this, I received notice of his death. What a shocker! Next I received notice of the deaths of Brian T. Wheeler and then Howard Croninger. Not good.
On the good side, George Colton and Ruth are planning a trip to Berkeley, California, to visit their son. I couldn't talk him into swinging south to pay us a visit. I spoke to Florrie Fitzhugh, who sounded great. However, Bill is not doing as well and is in assisted living. Bill Mathers had an accident, and what do you know, another knee injury. He is trying to put together plans for a 70th reunion. Any help greatly appreciated. I spoke to Monnie Hattenbach, who is having a fine time living it up in Florida. Ed Reich said he played golf and shot an 84. Awesome! Bill Adams assures me that he will catch up with him as soon as he recovers from the brutal New England winter. They are both out of my league. Any alum widows who wish to receive the Alumni Magazine, contact Bill. Jim Hughes now lives at Harvest Hills in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and is loving it. He tells me he is thin and in great shape. Babs Bankhart has lived at Thornton Oaks in Brunswick, Maine, for the last 10 years following the death of Reg. She just returned from a visit to the West and is planning a 90th birthday party with her whole family in August.
Stay well, all of you.
