Continuing the trend, I recently received this quick update on some recent weddings and engagements of our classmates. A warning for the single folks in our class—this may be a bit too much to handle.
This summer Mike Poncy married Amanda Taylor (a girl from his hometown), Steve Varney married Jen Martin (also a hometown girl) and there were a lot of Dartmouth alums at both weddings. Additionally, Josh Edwards was married to Robin Rubino in September. Tom Reusser got engaged to Tiffany Varrasso (from his hometown), Ted Heyn got engaged to Amanda Case and Andy McElaney got engaged to Lauren Jones (also a hometown girl).
Also, Jacob Licht is engaged to Althea Smiley, whom he met while at UVA Law. Lastly on the marriage front, Emily Swistel was married in August. At this time, details are limited, but I promise to report more as soon as the information is available!
In the "quick hits" section of the column: Jess Margolin just took the bar and is preparing for an impending move to Boston. Debbie Godsoe met up with Mike Rand in Thailand in August for a little vacation; he's been working there for the past three months or so with GE. Charlotte Zukowski will be heading to N.Y.C. after her last year at UPenn law. Also, if anyone picked up a foreign policy magazine in Grand Central or the airport in August, they might have noticed an article by Ph.D. student Ben Friedman. Also, Taylor Jones has moved back to N.Y.C. after graduating from Wharton Business School. She is pulling the reverse commute out to Connecticut and is willing to carpool with anyone who likes country music. After a "last hurrah before entering the real world" trip to China, Cabray Haines graduated with two master's from the University of Chicago in August and is trying to find employment before she goes crazy with boredom.
Lastly, good luck to Lisa Bianchi, who is running the New York City Marathon on November 6 as part of a charity fundraising team, the New York Road Runners Foundation Team for Kids. Lisa and her teammates are raising money to help 2,000 kids participate in Running Partners, an acclaimed youth development program that serves New York City schoolchildren who have little or no access to structured physical education. It's a great cause—good luck!
