Class activities take a rest during the summer months—so get ready for the class officers meeting in September and our Homecoming, scheduled for October 21 through October 23.

Reports from the ski trip adventurers added Bob Adnopoz, Pete Ankeny and Bill Murane to the participants listed in my last Class Notes. Also present in Aspen were spouses and children: Rosemarie Murane, Margie Ankeny, Carol Mullins, Sally Adnopoz Gendler '82, Stephanie Mullins '87 and Ryan Mullins. Bill Murane reported that "the snow conditions, particularly in Aspen, were spectacular."

Dan McCarthy, professor of general management at Northeastern University, was honored by its college of business administration with the endowment of a faculty chair to be named the Daniel J. McCarthy Distinguished Professorship of Global Management and Innovation. Dan had been earlier honored at our 50th reunion when inducted into the honor society of Phi Beta Kappa.

Pete Kenyon's son Peter, Middle East correspondent for NPR, received a Peabody Award, given foroutstanding reporting in Iraq. While noted for his coverage of Iraq and Israeli-Palestinian matters, he more recently covered the selection and inauguration of Pope Benedict in Rome.

Nick Dean of Edgecomb, Maine, died on January 28. Nick was a photographer and maritime historian. Our condolences to his wife, Elizabeth, and his five children.

Ferris "Tommy" Thompson died on February 24 in Tucson, Arizona. Tommy was a skilled dentist. He leaves his wife, Beth, and six children. Our thoughts are with them.

George McLaughlin died on April 6 in Boston. An eminent trial lawyer, George is survived by his wife, Betty, and three children, all Dartmouth graduates: Ellen, George and Dan.
