Though the 50th is coming soon, this column will be too late to encourage participation and even a small gift to the College. To those of you who could not attend or chose not to, the next edition will try to include the itinerary and as many classmates' activities as possible

There has been some dispute over the card representing Dean McDonald and Jud Hale. It centers over the familiarity that other classmates had with the dean during our early years. Anonymous and not so anonymous epistles stated that behind the dean, barely visible, sat Joe Donovan and Tom Evinride. This could not be corroborated but perhaps Jud at the reunion can shed some light.

Our sports coordinators, Doug Melville for golf and Dick Mount for tennis, are busy lining up appropriate lineups for equal talent. It won't be long before croquet will be offered (whites only). Doug's bad news was that Jim Wiggins' ist mate on the Atlantic sail, Jewell, died in March after a long battle with cancer—one of my favorite people, Jim.

Spring sports have been blessed with unusual April weather. The lacrosse teams are competitive with the women undefeated (they lost the NCAA semifinal round to Northwestern, 8-4, in mid-May). After watching Dartmouth lose to a good Cornell team, 8-7,1 went to the baseball game, where Joe Mathewson was basking in the sun. My freshman roomie was awaiting a Tucker Foundation meeting. The advantage of living here in the Upper Valley is three-fold: 1) the great advantage of music, speakers, plays, sports, etc.; 2) seeing former classmates or near graduates as they visit or setde nearby; and 3) a great health system (had a colonoscopy this a.m.).

Ed Willi and Cecilia were here April 14 to attend the first AA meeting on the Dartmouth campus Jill and I joined them for a late dinner at the Canoe Club, formerly the space of the Dartmouth Coop.

To those with family or without, the class of '55 expresses our sorrow at the passing of Warren Phillips Girard, Henry "Bill" Hudson and Richard Sexton Flagg. They will be included in our June Memorial Service. Does anyone know the address of Paul Dingwells widow, Marilyn?
