I was thinking that since my calls for news went unheeded, maybe I would punish you by keeping my wit and wisdom to myself and not submitting class notes for the last issue. Apparently my subtle jab was ignored. Send me news!
Actually, I did guilt Nancy Bacchieri into sending me a long e-mail that covered numerous people. So there. Nancy lives in Seattle and works in investor relations for 360 networks, a small telecom company. She married Rob Hollister '89, whom she met at Stanford Business School, last year on Marthas Vineyard. Kellie Houston and Julie Cusick Gerdeman were bridesmaids, and other '92s in attendance included Rich Morgner, Michelle Beaulieu Cook and Tim Keohane along with their spouses. Kellie is in Manhattan working for Youthstream Networks, while Julie and her husband just moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and she is a vice president for American Express. By the time you read this, both Rich and Tim should be dads.
So I've really got four months to cover this time, although the only news I had back then was Julia Hyness engagement announcement to Steve Shoff, a Wharton classmate. It happened way back in June and the wedding is scheduled for Julys omn Center City Philadelphia. Silly me, I remember sitting with Julia for lunch one day and hearing her say "I will never, ever get married." Oh, the things we say and do over Food Court meals. Julia, just promise me your wedding song will be "Santa And His OF Lady."
Elizabeth Terry is in grad school at Michigan, along with Juliet Serenyi Erazo and Michael Ferguson. Elizabeth also sent news of Liana Frey's October wedding to Paul Miller in Kalamazoo, where she was in the wedding party along with Robin Witt Allen. Courtney Gilbert was in attendance with husband Jim Keating '93.
Jessie Levine passed on news from Molly Phinney Baskette and husband Peter, who were blessed with the birth of Rafael James on January 20. Molly is an associate pastor at the Congregational Church in Beverly, Massachusetts. As for Jessie, she's continues to creep closer to the Homeland (that would be Hanover), living in Springfield, New Hampshire, and working as the town administrator in New London—a town that, I'm sure, needs a lot of administering.
I see Malia Huff every now and then, we get together for lunch or watch the Northwestern volleyball matches (her brother is a coach). Malia is working at Northwestern now, and if you're in the Midwestyou can catch her mom on the TV ads for Evanston-Northwestern Healthcare. Pretty cool, if you ask me.
Aisha Tyler has turned from hunter into hunted, apparently. Tyler, who has long panned daytime television as the hostess of Talk Soup, has progressively moved into the racy reality-series genre as the hostess of 5th Wheel. It may not be Temptation Island, but if it's good enough for latenight Fox it's good enough for me!
