Michelle Cloutier writes in that she and her husband "now live in Westport, Connecticut, and have been here for the last two years after living in South Africa, Spain, London, Dallas and Philadelphia. We have two great daughters, Halle (7) and Emma (4). They are of course the center of our world and are teaching us more about ourselves than anything else ever has! Since moving to Connecticut I have become a stay-at-home mom after a life in consulting and running various corporate marketing groups. It has been quite a transition from corporate marketing to selling my 4-year-old on eating healthy foods and sleeping all night in her own bed—even through the nightmares. To keep in touch with my busband I am trying to learn the game of golf, which to date amounts to some lovely walking tours of pristine grounds! Finally, lam working to start a charter Montessori preschool in Bridgeport, Connecticut, for underserved children. I had the great delight to reconnect with Debbie (formerly Smith) Marquardt '86, who is still at P&G and running a huge piece of their business. She has two gorgeous sons and I think they will never leave the Midwest. I also met Bethamy Arranow, who is now an ob-gyn living in New Canaan, Connecticut, with her husband and three children ...and, yes, she still swims!"
Dan Crisafulli recently relocated to San Francisco after 15 years in D.C. with his partner, Greg, and their daughter Caroline. In February Dan left the World Bank to join the Skoll Foundation, a leading supporter of social entrepreneurship—applying a venture capital model to international development He concluded, it "was great to reconnect with friends at the reunion last year, and the DGALA reunion as well...will be great to connect with others in the Bay Area, too."
From Seattle Lee Cerveny writes that she is a social scientist (anthropologist) with the U.S. Forest Service, where she researches the interaction between tourism and coastal communities in places like Alaska. She has worked with the Forest Service since 1999—it funded her dissertation research and hired her once she finished her Ph.D. (Syracuse) in 2004. She's been in Seattle for three years and prior to that in Maryland, Austin, Juneau, and upstate New York. In her free time Lee writes that she's "become obsessed with ice hockey. My entire family plays hockey and I decided to give it a try. I joined a women's team in 2006. Much fun." She's been married to Alexei for 11 years and has two boys, Nic (9) and Alex (41/2).
From Brooklyn Heights Susannah Drake Culhane writes that she now has her own landscape architecture and planning firm, dlandstudio. She has worked with a few '87s as clients. Last year she was awarded grants from the James Marston Fitch Foundation and New York State Council on the Arts for more academic work.
