Bob Conn retired recently from the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and opened Robert Conn Associates LLC, a public relations and writing firm specializing in all forms of writing, brochure preparation and public relations. Hey Bob, I thought that you retired!

Another alleged retiree, Hank Eberhardt also no longer is retired. Hank, apparently due at least in part to "inspiration" received from Bob Fuller and Art Kelton decided to res-enter the working world and is now the director of annual giving at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. It appears that Laurie may have married Hank for better or for worse, but not for lunch!

Pete Synnott apparently has been going through a tough time medically. However, I'm informed that he is much improved at the time of this writing. I'm sure that the entire class extends its best wishes to Pete. As an aside, Pete received an autographed copy of Chris Miller's (AD '63) new book, The Real Animal House, perhaps because he was an "inspiration" for one of the lead characters of the original movie.

At a recent conference call between a majority of the class officers and led by Roger McArt president, and Mike Murphy, vice president, among other subjects discussed was the consideration of off-campus mini-reunions during the next five years. Under the leadership of Dave Prewitt, minireunion co-chair, the current thought is to have three off-campus reunions during the next five years: a more exotic location for 2008, an easily accessible location for 2009 (our 70th birthday year—for most of us) and a more exotic location for 2010. Several places were suggested for each, but no conclusions reached. If you have any thoughts and perhaps wish to help coordinate a specific location, contact Dave Prewitt or any other class officer.

Also during the conference call Don O'Neill, our class head agent, spoke eloquently about a theme for our class during the five years leading up to our 50 th reunion. He spoke of the need for our class to increase its profile and to improve its perceived standing and recognition within the Dartmouth alumni community. He spoke of emphasizing alumni-giving participation (especially because of our smaller class size) rather than absolute dollar giving at this time. He spoke of our class receiving more recognition for various giving to other than the DCF, such as the '61 Legacy: The American Tradition in Performance, which does not count for the DCF but does count for the Campaign for Dartmouth. He talked about improving our class marketing and public relations efforts. Don has obviously put a great deal of time and effort into this, but he cannot achieve results unless he has our full support and participation.

Maynard Wheeler, mini-reunion co-chair, wants you all to know that fall mini-reunion this year will be from September 28 to 30 and will feature the Dartmouth-Penn football game and several class functions.

Finally, we are planning to update the class alumni directory, which is substantially outdated. Please submit to me via e-mail (richwind13@gmail.com orviaor.rich@rsmi.com) or letter any changes to your primary home address, name of spouse, e-mail address and telephone numbers (home, work and fax number). Also, please submit your secondary home address and telephone number, if any, as we may also publish these, depending on cost.
