Everyone should have recovered from the 30th reunion by the time of this column. Thanks to Missy Attridge and Amy Cammann Chomolsky, this column is being written for the Class Notes.
According to Missy, "It was a really nice time. Katherine Phillips, then Jennifer Leigh Warren and Richard Stillman put in great performances in Spaulding Auditorium (along with some '82s and the alumni glee club) on Friday night. Martha Blakemore Chapman hosted a nice breakfast for the women of '77 on Saturday. And we had a stellar panel that Susan Dentzer helped put together that sounds depressing but was really one of the best things I've attended at a reunion. It was on confronting illness as we age (and it had panelists talking about illness in a child, spouse, parent or self). If memory serves, classmates Rich Bane, Nora Odendahl, Vince Pellegrini, Lucy Townsend, Neal Webber, Allison Williams spoke (but I am missing at least two). Plus Diana Taylor once again brought as her date Mayor Bloomberg (I was wondering why the security detail was outside the ski lodge on Saturday night). Many said it was the best reunion ever, even better than the 25th. Big thanks to Sandy and Bambi Wood, Gretchen Heller Farmer and the reunion committee."
Per Amy, some of the stellar 30 th reunion highlights: 'Artists and authors—including Paul Storfer—exhibited their work and spoke about their books and works of art to a packed crowd of appreciative classmates in the panel Missy cited (it was very powerful and left us hoping to somehow integrate the idea into our Web site); performances by Jennifer Warren and Richard Stillman, which all said were the highlight of the evenings event; alumnae breakfast at the home of Martha Blakemore Chapman; breaking the attendance record and shattering the reunion-giving record; faculty 'tails with some major emiences from the 1970s; the best-looking tent in Hanover, thanks to the efforts of Bambi Wood; a fantastic slide show, courtesy of Nancy Parsinnen Vespoli; a lovely memorial service in Rollins led by Ann Muenzer Beams; the reunion comnittee dancing on tables at the Skiway. The weather was a '10' and the camaraderie was at least an '11.' We simply have the best class Dartmouth has ever produced!"
It has been a great five years serving as secretary for the class of 1977. Unfortunately, I was not able to make the 30th reunion due to business travel; first reunion that I have missed since graduation. I would like to thank Alan MacDonald for persuading me to take on the job of secretary. He is busy serving as the district enrollment director for the Dartmouth Club of Kentucky, which was the Small Club of the Year in 2006.
The class of 1977 is a great class. I am proud to welcome Kathy Kelley Cimina as the new class
secretary. Please continue to send those e-mails, articles and phone calls to Kathy. Kathy's e-mail is cohasset73@comcast.net. Leslie Embs Bradford is our new class president! Thanks to Mark Siegal for serving as the immediate past class president. The class of 1977 is in good hands.
