Fiftieth college reunions are truly special events. You, I and all of our classmates have been aware of the traditional grandness of these occasions at least since 1959, when we saw the 50-year class march at our own graduation. Now our 50th is coming up June 11-16 next year. It is time to make our commitments to be present, assure our budgets and post our calendars.

Everyone will be there! Classmates with wives and classmates without. Your friends, roommates, guys who lived down the hall, fellows you knew in campus activities and your dorm. Classmates with whom you have stayed in touch and those you have not seen since graduation. Classmates you never knew with whom you will make instant friends next June. Classmates who didn't even graduate. ate. Widows of classmates. They are all coming.

It's easy to revive friendships and to make new friends. Everyone mixes and mingles. Most people sit down to dinner at tables where there are classmates they never knew in College—and have a thoroughly enjoy joyable time. As Al Munroe says, "Everyone is relaxed. You don't need to have been good friends with people in Hanover to make new friendships here. When we come to reunions Kathy and I quickly fall in with whoever is around just like everyone else seems to do."

Believe me, you can have a wonderful time relaxing, reconnecting, talking, trading stories of College days and tales of the years since as well as enjoying events. You can pick from Commencement proceedings, entertainments, shopping, antiquing, special art shows, theater, delicious meals, musicals and Great Issues-like seminars. You are able to do what you want, when you wish and to skip anything that does not appeal!

Our reunion committee has reserved the entire East Wheelock cluster of dorms. Much nicer than the dorms you and I remember, East Wheelock has private bathrooms and air conditioning for a most reasonable $45 per person per night. If you prefer otherwise, book yourself into one of the local motels or B&Bs. It's a once-in-your-life event you cannot enjoy unless you take whatever steps are necessary right now to assure your presence. Our committee of volunteers will be sending you details, reservation forms and other pa- perwork in the future, no need to worry about that now. But you do need to look at your cal- endar for next June 11, pencil in "commence- ment," commit the budget and let nothing interfere.

Those on the committee will all be there wanting to see you: chair Doug Wise, Polly Allen, Anne Baldwin, Arlyss and Ray Becker, Bill Boyle, Jim Bybee, Bill Colehower, Janice and Chris Cundey, Donna and John Ferries, Wayne French, Dave Gavitt, Dick Hoehn, the Rev. Read Heydt, Dick Jaeger, Bob Johnson, Dave Marshall, Mike Melvoin, Debbie and Mike Nolen, Scott Palmer, Sue and Charlie Pinkerton, Carlos Plummer, Herb Schoenberg, Marge and Paul Stein, Bill Sweet, Sam Werner Joanne Wise, Jim Wooster.
