With our 20th reunion fast approaching and the next election, of class officers it brings, I will be resigning as class secretary. If you might be interested, please get in touch!
This column is filled with news provided by Susan (Marshall) Abraham. She and her husband, David, live in Evanston, Illinois, with their three children Joshua (11), Jeffrey (9) and Leila (7). "We love living in Chica- go (where we've been since graduation), are busy with the kids and work and we keep in touch with quite a few Dartmouth friends. I left my career in human resources four years ago and now work part-time teaching pilates and training for triathlons and volunteering at the schools. David and two partners run an investment and trading firm. Life is good.
"Suzanne (Rubens) Kanter and her husband Dan, live around the corner from us and we see them often. They have kids Anna (13), Noah (10) and Ella (7) and a dog. Dan and David are business partners; Suzanne is a big supporter of the arts, especially in the schools, and is president of the board of an inter-arts troupe. We attended their oldest daughter Annas bat. mitzvah in January, where we saw Jay and Sheldon (Kendall) Hardy and their children Corinne (13), Henry (11), George (9) and Alice (7). Jay and Sheldon recently moved from Chicago to Cincinnati, Ohio, wherejay is head of operations for a life insurance company.
"Christina (Perry) Katz lives in Oregon with her husband Jason, and their 6-year-old daughter Samantha Rose. Chris is an author of soon-to-be two books and is very good about keeping us updated on her family's life. Katie Perle and Kevin Jones '87 and their son Odie are still in Oregon, where they founded and run a full-circle organic farm and where I hope to bring my kids to work for a week.
"Josh Low and his wife, Emily, and their two children Max and Audrey recently bought a house in Evanston, Illinois, and we're looking forward to seeing them in the 'hood more often.
"In other Alpha Chi brother news Bill Komaroff and his wife, Ariana, are expecting their first child this year. We attended their wedding in N.Y.C. a year ago January, when we spent time with Dave McConnell and Janine Lambert, Richard Reisman, Andy Felder and Adam Seiden. Those guys kept me laughing the whole night. We first met Ariana the previous March on a joint 40th birthday sailing trip in the Caribbean (along with the Hardys) and are really glad Bill decided to propose. Also worth mentioning is that both Bill and Ariana are Ironman triathletes.
"We spent more time with Rich this past winter as well, when he let us stay in his Dillon, Colorado, ski condo with our kids for a long weekend. Rich is in as good shape as ever and lives in Denver. We hope to make this an annual trip now that we know 24-hour oxy- gen delivery is available (our daughter experienced some altitude sickness).
"Another Dartmouth friend who always opens her home to us is Michelle (Stowe) Ong, who lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her husband, Jon, and their two daughters Megan and Sophia. My kids love when Michelle takes us out tubing with her boat on Lake Norman (right at the edge of their back yard!) because she can make them fall off like nobody else. Michelle practices internal medicine and takes trips to South America nearly every year to volunteer her time and medical expertise. She and I are trying to find time to travel together.
'Another devoted doctor I keep in touch with is Tom Chiller, who lives in Atlanta with his wife, Kat (also a doctor), and their three children. Tom works in public health and travels a lot. He was in Chicago in September when we last hooked up for drinks and I can't believe a whole school year has passed since then."
