This month is all about big news.

The big news is great news, our very own Bobo Krakower was awarded the Dartmouth Young Alumni Distinguished Service Award. No real surprise. Well, perhaps a little surprise since after graduating she vowed never to set foot in Hanover again. We're all glad she has wholeheartedly set Ijoth feet frequently back in Hanover—from defending 99 Rock! to supporting Alpha Theta to working on the Alumni Council to the most excellent reunion last year and now to one full year as president. The citation from the College refers to Bobo as a reformed rebel. I don't think she's ever lost it or needed reforming, the rebel works for me.

Life for Renee Reed has been moving at full throttle. She and her partner moved to Dallas in September to be closer to her family. In November Renee gave birth to their first child, Grant Thurman Bliss Reed. And in December they opened a new Anytime Fitness gym. Between family, baby and gym Renee is finding out how productive sleep deprivation really can be. Renee invites anyone in the area interested in child care, a solid workout or wonderful meatloaf to get in touch, reneereed24@hotmail.com

More on the big news train, Alex Kaplan added his two cents. Just before reunion last year (May 27) he married Lisa Schorr. Alex writes, "In attendance were '93s Seth Alpert, Sam Cook and Pete Essig. Rumor has it that one of those .three is expecting a second child in May, another is planning to get married in the fall and a third has just finished building a beautiful house in Vermont. I won't tell who did what, though. You'll have to figure that one out on your own." After a year of bumming around through temporary teaching gigs Alex landed at Newton South High School in Newton, Massachusetts. "It's a great place to teach and I feel like I'll be here for a long time to come." Evidently not content with the school's text, Alex and a former colleague co-wrote Tim O'Brien in the Classroom. Published by the National Council of Teachers of English, it helps teachers more effectively incorporate O'Briens works into their curriculum.

Lastly, Brian Moss wrote from Houston, "My wife, Jen, and I welcomed our third (and last) child to the fold on October 17, 2007—Draden Elizabeth. Will (5) and Emeline (31/2) are thrilled with their new baby sister."

That's all the news. I hope to hear from you soon.
