Having spent time in Hanover about a month ago to firm up reunion plans, I can report that Dartmouth is as beautiful as ever—maybe even more so. Our upcoming reunion will take place on September 26-28. As you read this, we will probably be about a month away from this auspicious occasion—and not too late to indicate your desire to participate with old friends and acquaintances.
Consider this to beyour formal invitation from the College—you will be "the guest of the College"—the College is hosting this 70th reunion for you. It is its way of thanking you for 74 years of dedication to beloved Dartmouth—a celebration for the men of Dartmouth. Your room and meals will be provided by your host (Dartmouth). You should have received information to include the agenda for the weekend and please don't hesitate to call me with any questions, (413) 596-62460. I am pleading with you to consider returning to beautiful Hanover, if at all possible.
Received a note from George Payne from Omaha, Nebraska: "There are about 200 alumni in a 50-mile radius. We have tried to have a club meeting once or twice a year ... very thin." I thank you, George, foryournote. A note received from my very dear pen pal Ed Grace indicates that "Adele and I hope to make our 70th reunion." I certainly hope so, Ed; you and I have a date!
Our deepest sympathy to the family of Louis "Lou" Fortuna, who recently passed away. His family, along with Lou, will be remem- bered in prayers.
