Virginia and I had a very pleasant visit from my good friend and classmate Dick Higgins and his wife, Jackie. After a little persuasion I got him to come to southern Arizona to look for a respite from winter in Chicago. They found a suitable place and are looking forward to our sunshine and warm weather. Of course we also exchanged war stories—Dick was a member of the Dartmouth Squadron and he graduated as a single engine fighter pilot. His gunnery scores were so high that they made him an instructor instead of sending him overseas. We look forward to seeing them this winter.

In the Dartmouth Medical School news I learned that Dr. Wayne Martz wrote about the difficulty of getting bodies for their anatomylab. That may have been a problem then, but I doubt that it is now.

I have a note from Bud Dutton telling of the death of Bill Lowenthal, who had a distinguished career as a Foreign Service officer. His obituary will appear in a future issue.
