Russ Ingersoll and Pat have moved to the more cosmopolitan environs of Greensboro, North Carolina. Their granddaughter Morgan, who suffered through a paralyzing spinal operation a few years ago, has regained her ability to walk and moved with her parents to Dayton, Ohio. For Russ this is much closer to Greensboro than Hendersonville was, but they are missed by classmates left behind.

One of those missing him is his old Phi Delt roommate Dave Farnsworth, who retired a year ago as a USPS substitute delivering Saturday mail to the mountain rednecks. He keeps busy during the holiday season chauffeuring wife Mary around to her many venues as part of three choral groups. Dave will reprise his vaunted sandbagger career during spring hums in Hanover when he wears a top hat and mimes festive songs while performing at the Biltmore Estate. He shares news of Walt Sosnowski's many bicycle feats with the likes of Chuck Kaufman, Bryant Barnes, Gary Vandeweghe and other hoopsters. Perhaps we can persuade Walt and Bruce Clark to reenact a Tuck School bike race during our 50th reunion.

Dave Haight remains closeted in Tulsa, Oklahoma, coping with the eight grandchildren he and Paula share. He plans to remain in Tulsa forever despite the interesting weather patterns that produce many tornadoes and a ration of ice storms that cripple local travel.

Arnold Sigler has recovered from a small stroke last July and his triple bypass of several years ago. He ventured to North Carolina last fall to attend a NASCAR race in Charlotte. When not on the road he has molded a spot on his leather couch, where he counts pills before ingesting and occasionally pesters the likes of Mike McGinnis and Roger Zissu by telephone.

Allen Stowe and Wendy evaded their many children and grandchildren by leaving Vero Beach, Florida, in mid-December aboard the Queen Mary II, not to return until early January. An extended cruise through the Caribbean sounds magnificent when you are shivering in sub-freezing weather!

Don Stoddard has found the perfect solution to winter storms: He starts a warm fire, plays soothing music, imbibes a fine wine and watches Barbara struggle to get her new knee to achieve new angles—all this while living permanently on a small cliff above Glenwild Lake, New Jersey. Similarly, Dorla Brock is helping Tom adjust to his new knee while watching it snow in Stowe, Vermont—very hard for an old ski bum! Recuperation is the name of the game for Hank and Laurel Greer as she recovers from a heart procedure performed in Cleveland last spring. Wisely, they are doing this at home near Charleston, South Carolina.

With the economy in a mess I trust you are all saving for a trip to Hanover in June 2010, when we celebrate our 50th reunion. Keep the cards and letters coming so I do not have to exaggerate your exploits.
