Hi everyone! Hope all is well wherever this may find you. Most of you were not particularly helpful in terms of sending in updates, but some of you stepped up to the plate and helped me out.
James Marlow writes from Koura, Lebanon, where he is doing water quality research at the University of Balamand, learning Arabic and "enjoying the unstable Lebanese atmosphere."
Melanie Kohn is serving in the Peace Corps in Burkina Faso as a health volunteer and would be thrilled to have any visitors. I wish her the best of luck with that, and any of you in the neighborhood should definitely visit her, if only because there can't be too many Dartmouth alums in Burkina Faso.
There are a few people still hanging around Hanover. Margaret Jacobs is working as an intern for the studio art department at Dartmouth and was accepted to the Vermont Studio Center resident-artist program for four weeks this coming October. Josh Feder just finished up his last semester at Dartmouth, where he directed Urinetown: The Musical (and sold out three shows doing so). He reports that he is relocating to the Goodspeed Opera House in January to be production manager for two festivals of new musicals followed by a second run as choreographer for the Junior Intern Company at the New London Bam Playhouse. Josh is clearly much busier than I am. Phil Rehayem is graduating with the '09s and "would be down to host any nostalgic '08s," of which I am sure there are plenty. Myself included.
Erica Jones only recently discovered that I e-mail out about this column, because her Dartmouth blitz account just ended after doing Summer Enrichment at Dartmouth during the summer.
Lily Macartney just moved to Boston and is living with Daisy Freund and working at an art auction house. She also says she loves visitors.
Alysia Harris just finished her first semester at Vanderbilt Law School.
Carolyn Kylstra was recently promoted from being an intern to a reporter at Men'sHealth magazine, where she writes about the calories in fast food burgers. She also moved from Allentown, Pennsylvania, into a sweet new place in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She says both are happening spots, but Bethlehem is definitely an upgrade.
Stephanie Zamorano moved to a spacious bachelorette pad on South Beach, Florida, where her apartment could easily fit a family of four. She also has a hammock on her balcony.
Yasmin Mandviwala recently had a birthday party in New York City and says "a different person has a birthday party in N.Y.C. eveiy weekend." She also is taking keyboard lessons, though her renditions of popular holiday theme songs are a little out of date now that we are into 2009.
Well that's all for now, but keep me posted on whatyou are all up to! Trust me, I'm not the only one who wants to know.
