Spring greetings to all. With a late-summer St. Louis, Missouri, trip coming up for the wedding of my eldest son, it was time to call Missouri classmates. I got some pointers on things to see and do and also got some news: Chuck Schweizer has been retired once, but then moved into a second career, having gone back to law school at age 45. He is a partner in investment management, but already looking ahead to retirement No. 2. He and wife Maria have four children, three of whom live in (or are moving to) Seattle. So Chuck and Maria plan to move closer to kids and grandkids. They have already bought land out there. Steve Giddings is an endocrinologist at the VA hospital in St. Louis. He reports that diabetes is becoming a public health crisis. In his early practice diabetes was rare enough to be a “reportable” event; now it is everywhere. Daughter Olivia ’98 is an M.D./Ph.D. with a specialty in infectious diseases and works at Vanderbilt. Steve’s wife of 41 (!) years, Kathryn, is an attorney specializing in commercial real estate. Steve’s favorite hobby is doing, and coaching, rowing. Kathryn loves gardening and antiquing. In his Dartmouth life Steve was a member of the Naxian Sphinx band along with David “Howard” Soren. I hope we can get both of them back to future events involving the SWB, our reconstituted ’68 band that performed at (or were politely endured at) reunion. Speaking of the SWB, I’m still looking for nonmembers to identify what that means. Special correspondent Pete Wonson has a great little e-mail group keeping current with each other, from which I learned that Dave Fuchs moved from Fairlee, Vermont, to Brownington, Vermont (very north, for map checkers), but had a house sale go bad at the last minute and still owns two homes (hope that has changed by the time these notes get published!). Tom Mitchell sent me a wonderful, thoughtful poem, written in memoriam for a ’67 friend of his, David Sinclair. Jim Donnelly was honored with two recent appointments: by the Massachusetts Bar Association to serve as chair of the judicial administration section, and by the Massachusetts Superior Court to the business litigation session advisory committee. Jim is a partner at Mirick, O’Connell, DeMallie and Lougee LLP in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he concentrates on complex civil litigation and business disputes. Equally impressive: He’s past president of the Dartmouth Club of Central Massachusetts and Club Officer’s Association and has been a member of the Alumni Council. Congratulations, Jim. By the way, next executive committee meeting in Hanover on April 25 if this reaches you in time. All are welcome!

Keep the news coming.
