I just returned from Hanover, where I attended Club and Affiliated Group Officers Weekend. Also in town were Rachel Froman Bettencourt, Jonathan Marvel and Sally Adnopoz Gendler. I also got to meet Lillian Cousins Giornelli’s daughter Adelaide, a first year at Dartmouth who sings with the Rockapellas.
David Conard is an attorney at Langrock Sperry & Wool in Burlington, Vermont. When not practicing law David enjoys renovating old wooden boats. He writes, “I just sold a 23-foot Herreshoff sloop and still have a 21-foot Herre- shoff cat yawl, plus a half-dozen smaller boats. I also restored a 1921 Old Town rowing canoe.” His wife, Carol, allows him to have as many boats as he wants as long as they all fit in the barn.

Peter Lambert lives nearby in Barrington, Rhode Island, where he volunteers with the Katie Brown Education Program, which educates the community about relationship violence against females. Katie Brown was a local teenager who was murdered by her boyfriend. How many of you knew that Peter worked as a firefighter and paramedic at the Hanover Fire Department during our years in Hanover? He also is the “top gun” of our class, having flown fighter jets for the U.S. Air Force.
Margaret Smith works as an attorney in the division of trading and markets at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. She and her husband just sold their Capitol Hill house and moved to the Maryland suburbs. As students Margaret and I both worked as newscasters at WDCR, where we received many irate calls from local residents whenever we mispronounced the names of local towns. Who knew Barre, Vermont, was pronounced “Barry”?

George specializes in civil litigation. Is that an oxymoron? He also serves on the Westborough board of selectmen and writes: “I do enjoy the chance to serve my community, meet people outside of my profession and get involved in different issues and challenges.”
Russell Gombosi is a doctor in eastern Pennsylvania, where he lives with his wife, Juliann.
