Hey ’91s. One small tidbit to share this time. Be sure to check out Leonard Chang’s sixth novel, Crossings, due to be published in August. Leonard has been a busy guy since graduating—and not just because he has been writing. He interned with the Peace Corps in Kingston, Jamaica, studied philosophy at Harvard (graduating with honors) and received an M.F.A. in creative writing at the University of California at Irvine. His first novel, The Fruit ’n Food, was published in 1996 and won the Black Heron Press Award for Social Fiction. He also wrote a popular noir trilogy (Over the Shoulder, Underkill and Fade to Clear), which was a USA Today Summer Reading Pick and a finalist for the Shamus Award. In addition to novels Leonard writes short stories, essays and book reviews. You can read more about Leonard’s writing and accomplishments at www.leonardchang.com.
Wish I had more to share. Oh, how about this? I’m turning 40 this week and I am quite certain I am not alone in reaching this milestone. Send me details on how and with whom (other Greens?) you celebrated. I’m guessing it’s a bit more dignified than our celebrations in Hanover. Or not.
Write me, folks! We don’t want this column to run blank, do we?
