Cherie comeau ’02 has passed the Class notes baton to me, and on behalf of all Dartmouth clubs and associations I thank her for her service for the past couple of years as the alumni magazine editor of club news. The 2013-14 admissions cycle ended early in April with acceptance notifications going out to regular decision candidates, most of whom were interviewed nationwide by alumni club members who volunteered many hours to meet with candidates and to write interview evaluations. Your interview evaluations continue to provide helpful information and insights to admissions office staff who worked through thousands of competitive applications to select the class of 2018.

Many clubs conduct annual receptions or other events in April for newly accepted students to meet them and to encourage their matricula- tion at the College. The Dartmouth Club of Eastern new York hosted a dozen prospective ’18s and parents at its annual dinner at the historic Fort Orange Club in Albany, New York. The Dartmouth Club of Georgia welcomed more than 70 students admitted to the class of 2018 at reception held in the atlanta home of susan and thad King ’73, P’04, ’07. Special guest dean of admissions and finan- cial aid Maria laskaris ’84 provided alumni, guests, students and their parents with insights about dartmouth. lou spelios ’95, the georgia club’s district enrollment director, reported that it was a fun and energy-filled event for both alumni and students. The Dartmouth Club of Philadelphia sponsored an admitted student reception for 28 admitted students and nearly 50 alumni and other guests at the home of Debbie schwartz ’86. Admissions director Paul Sunde was the guest speaker. A panel of parents of current students shared their children’s experiences at the Col- lege and their own feelings about the value of a Dartmouth education. The reception provided an opportunity for the admitted students to meet each other, share contact information and be wel- comed into the Dartmouth family. Amy Beringer ’81 and Ken Johnson ’83, P’15, report the Dartmouth Association of the Rocky Mountains held an event for its admitted students at the Denver home of Martha Records, tu’91, P’17, and Rich Rainaldi, P’17.

The Dartmouth Club of Los Angeles hosted a reception at the home of Betsy Burnham stern ’84

and Mark stern ’85 for the students admitted to the class of 2018 from the greater Los Angeles area. More than 90 admitted students, parents and alums came together for the event that fea- tured Dean Laskaris as well assistant director of admissions Francisco Herrera ’13 and admis- sions intern alex Judson ’14. Kim Buresh ’90 and Roy Forbes ’84 organized the event that helped many of the students deciding among schools to choose Dartmouth.
