OLD COLLEGE DIPLOMA RECEIVED

Through the generosity of Matt B. Jones '94, the College has received a diploma for the Bachelor of Arts degree granted to Tilton Eastman of the class of 1796 during the presidency of John Wheelock. Mr. Eastman was a native of Amherst, N. H., and held a pastorate in Randolph, Vt., for practically all of his active life. An interesting feature of the diploma is the green ribbon to which the college seal is attached, the earliest evidence, so far as we are aware, of the selection of green for the college color.
