BUTTERFIELD DEMOLISHED FAYERWEATHER RENOVATED
MAY, 1928

Commencement visitors will find the Baker Library standing entirely exposed at the north side of the campus for by that time old Butterfield will be entirely demolished and the dwelling houses now surrounding the library will be torn down or moved to new locations. With the re-opening of college following the Easter recess recitations in biology, geology and geography were held in the new Science Building and the work of wrecking Butterfield was started.

Occupants of Middle Fayerweather were moved to other dormitory rooms, for the most part to the new dormitory on Tuck Drive, Gile Hall, during the vacation and the work of renovating Fayer is now in full progress. The interior of Middle Massachusetts will also be extensively remodeled during the summer. The Clement Botanical Building on North Main Street is nearly completed.

The Hegeman-Harris construction company delivered the keys to the Baker Library to the College on April 1, signifying that the interior finishing work on this building has been completed. Furnishing the entire library, finishing special rooms, and installing the chime in the tower will be completed in plenty of time for the dedication of the building Class Day, June 16, during commencement.

With the erection of the hockey rink, the Carpenter Fine Arts Building, and the Sanborn English House scheduled to begin soon Hanover will continue its construction "boom."
