In response to my fervid appeal in my letter of December for information in regard to yourselves and your families, I have received one reply, and thus publicly extend my thanks to H. F. J. Norton. Norton announces that he is a grandfather, as Mrs. Farrar (Esther Norton) had a daughter born last spring. Ruth Norton is a member of the staff of the Buffalo Museum of Natural Science During the winter she is giving picture talks every Monday afternoon, designed not only to help her listeners to enjoy the picture she shows them, but to foster an appreciation and understanding of all good pictures.
I had the pleasure of lunching with McDuffee early in January. He is a real worker. Not content with making a magnificent record for '92 on last year's Alumni Fund, he is already laying plans as to how he can improve that record next year. Of course, you are all going to co-operate with him.
He reported running across Shurty at the Parker House the night before the Sonnenberg-Lewis match and also at breakfast the next morning. He said Shurty looked much better in the morning than he did when he saw him in the evening, which is indicative of the curative power of real pleasure.
