Eastman was reported in late October as living at his summer camp, Matotee Lodge, Desbarats, Ontario, Canada.

The Eighties Group dined as usual at the Boston City Club after the Dartmouth-Harvard game in October, Sanborn in charge of arrangements. Fifteen attended: Bayley '85, Newton '86, Burnett, Gage, Knight, and Sanborn '87; Cate, Dunlap, Gregory '88; Blakely '89.

Bayley indulged in some pungent political comments, Knight, Cate, and Blakely responded for their classes, while Bartlett, returned from his annual trip to Russia, commented on present conditions there. Newton presided at the dinner.
