Probably few recall Frank L. Goodspeed, who by early withdrawal was destined to make his college contacts and friendships in a different environment. A recent letter of inquiry requesting some details of his life brought a response from which the following is quoted: "I do notremember how long I was there (Hanover)before illness compelled me to leave, butit could not have been more than two orthree weeks.
"To be brief, I graduated from Harvard,class of 1890. Also graduated in theology atBoston University. My academic degreesA.B., A.M., S.T.B., Ph.D., D.D. Myprincipal pastorates, Mattapoisett, Mass.,where I was ordained, Amherst, Mass., thehistoric old First Congregational churchin Springfield, Mass. (14 years), First Presbyterian church here (8 years), where we builtone of the finest church edifices on thePacific Coast, called "Oakland's TempleBeautiful," and ten years in Congregationalin Barre, Vt., in the county where I wasborn and raised. Have held many officesand traveled rather extensively. For manyyears preached through the summer inLondon."
He is now a resident of Oakland, Calif., 834 Calmar Ave.
H. E. Gage spent two weeks in Tryon, N. C., in March, with stopover at Washington and New York on his return.
