THE FIFTH ANNUAL Alumni-Undergraduate Luncheon Saturday noon, December 30, attracted the largest attendance yet—6B. As formerly, the undergraduates were guests of the alumni and featured the meeting under the assistant toastmaStership of Carl P. James Jr. '40. The toastmaster was the President of the Association, Richard T. Willis '22.

Dartmouth's new rowing coach, Ernest F. Bowen of Milford, New Hampshire, Cornell 1912, made a big hit with everyone present as he described the development of this comparatively new sport and predicted that "the alumni body will be as proud of Dartmouth rowing as they are of Dartmouth football." He reported considerable enthusiasm and the excellence of the equipment which is to be available. The following undergraduates covered the subjects indicated: Bob Marcotte '41 hockey and Camera Club; Arnold Bartlett '41 football and The Players; Lloyd Fishman '41 track; Dick Burns '42 baseball; Carl P. James Jr. '40 skiing; and David C. Chamberlain '41 rowing.

Comments on the past football season from the point of view of one of the stars of a year ago were given by Gus Zitrides '39, now a student at Cornell Law School where he assisted at coaching their freshman team.

This yearly event has proven so progressively successful that similar holiday gettogethers of both alumni and undergraduates are recommended to other alumni associations whose program can include it.
