The largest and finest meeting of the Mohawk Valley Dartmouth Club was held February 3, at the Fort Schuyler Club in Utica. Twenty-four members and 15 guests disregarded icy roads and streets to hear our speaker, John Dell Isola. Guests included four area high school coaches.
Pop Chesley '08 presided due to the absence of Bill Calli and he called on some of the members to say a few words about Dartmouth to the high school boys. Bill Morton '28 from Syracuse, who is considered more of a member than a guest, did a fine job impressing the boys with the facts that Dartmouth is not a school for "brains" but a school for the all- around boy.
John Dell Isola held the close attention of everyone as he told of his experiences as a professional football player and as a coach. He did an impressive job of outlining the athletic activities and other opportunities which Dartmouth offers to her students. Verification of John's success as a speaker and as a man who can sell Dartmouth came after the meeting when the high school boys cornered him for over a half-hour, asking him questions and listening to more of his stories.
