THE ASSOCIATION IS VERY HAPPY to report the most successful annual dinner in its history, held the evening of February 27. The rare pleasure of having President Hopkins as our guest of honor and speaker assured us of as fine an evening as any Dartmouth man could anticipate. Well over a hundred men turned out to fill the dining room of the University Club and enjoy one of the largest gatherings we have ever had. Everyone fell under the spell of President Hopkins' inspiring talk on the College, its past, present and future, and we were all loathe to leave the meeting even when the wee small hours found the •majority still going strong.
It was a great treat for us all, and we were glad to have several visitors with us as well as six of the boys who expect to enter the College this fall.
President and Mrs. Hopkins spent a week in Los Angeles and were kept busy every minute by the association and other friends. We wish it could have been much longer, for the week was gone and we were bidding them good bye before we had even started to do the things for them which we wished to do.
At the annual meeting, the following officers were elected to carry on the work of the association for the 1940-41 year.
President, Francis J. McEntee '29; Ist Vice President, Edgar W. Hiestand '10; 2nd Vice President, Robert G. Sands '33; Secretary, Walter D. Douglas II '31; Treasurer, Keating Coffey '33; Assistant Secretary, Rudolph Pacht '35; Assistant Treasurer, Robert S. Morris Jr. '36.
