Fairbanks, Robert N— Received a message from Rob via his brother Arthur of '86, now living at 51 Brattle St., Cambridge, Mass. (thank you Arthur).
Rob says he seldom hears from the class Secretary.
That must be because the censor can't read my writing and fears what I have tried to say might "give comfort to the enemy." Rob further says that "he is alive and as well as might be expected, is living in very quiet retirement on the south Coast of England." His address is East Preston, Sussex, England. I am sure that a real letter from 23 men of '88 would make him forget the war and cost us only 5 cents each.
Hardy, Geo. F. was out of town when my last letter arrived, but his son John, Dartmouth '22, was good enough to write a cordial note. It looks as if Geo. was still on the job and proposed to stay as long as there is any water power and timber left.
Lougee, W. W.—Talked with Doc last evening. Poor fellow, he reported that he was "all tired out." That he and Mrs. Lougee have just returned from a 2600 mile sight seeing trip as far South as Charleston, South Carolina, saw all the sights worth seeing and reached home about dead." That, gentlemen, is what we must expect when we try to be "as young as we used to be."
Williams, Wendell—was pleased to hear from Wendell that he had made a complete recovery and is now feeling well. No hard feelings for Pattee.
Secretary, 11 Oak St., Belmont, Mass.
