S. after another year and a half in England, including four months of the war. Now residing in Washington Dan (married) is assistant to the Chief of the Radio Division of the U. S. Office of Education.

Bob Button—for writing the first accepted music for television broadcast. Details are vague, but sure thing is that significant honor has been conferred upon banker-lawyer Button.
Dan Holland—for entertaining and instructing Radio City and other movie audiences throughout the country in Pathe Film's trout-fishing, fly-casting short filmed at Sun Valley with photogenic Dan and his father as the entire cast. HUNTING AND FISHING magazine is Dan's usual medium.
Jack Smith—now entitled to add the initials R.A. (Registered Architect) to his name—high ranker in architectural competitions—and still unable to resist the lure of the springboard—number twelve in national diving championships.

A recent issue of the Los ANGELES TIMES rotogravure has a picture of Bette Davis "enjoying filmland festivities" with no less an escort than Johnny Favour. Miss Davis is "wild-eyed and excited" according to the blurb—while '36er Favour looks very calm and collected.

And where is "I've a job for everyone" Ireland now? See Northwest Mounted Police—he's in it. And poetic justice—he is Publicity Director for Fine Arts Pictures in Hollywood.
Shertz's reorganization of the Alumni Fund drive will be very successful if the efforts of regional directors Ed Brooks and Bob Morris are any indication. Thanks for the early contributions, and if you haven't contributed yet save these guys some work by kicking in quick.

Larry Jump has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the American Ambulance Corps in France. No direct word from him, but reports are that he looks pretty fine in uniform and that present inaction is only the proverbial calm Paul Lynch and Roy Coppedge graduated from Columbia Law last year, but haven't indicated where they are or what they are doing now
Advice to all out of town members is that the New York Tuesday noon '36 luncheon club was burned out recently— hope is that the result will be a still "Better 'Ole" and the club will resume as soon as possible

And that about covers the news for the month. Some of it is probably incorrectlots of it is old. But darned if it gets any reaction from you guys. Get mad if the wrong dope appears about you. Write whether you like this column or whether it "stinks for your dough" (quote Scherman). The only rise so far was from R. M. Prentice, General Foods export advertising junior exec, who deplored what he termed "new deal propaganda" in last month's report. He feels that using the class column to kid any political party is akin to using the mails to defraud. Any sort of reaction is appreciated. Prompt reaction to the alumni fund by many of you is doubly appreciated. Can't give you any one hundred per cent—what Sub Harris would call "perennial sophomore stuff" but think that we ought to show a little more class activity and interest—in other words we ought to get off the dime.
