ON MARCH 1 the Dartmouth Club of Central Pennsylvania held a meeting in the Harrisburger Hotel which was attended by 26 members and guests. At this meeting Ross McKenney, Advisor to the Dartmouth Outing Club, was our speaker. He proved to be very interesting and practically the entire group stayed an hour more than was anticipated asking Mr. McKenney questions regarding his work and securing information especially on fishing. Mr. McKenney will be welcome back any time.
A letter from Ted Selig '27, informs us that he is now connected with the Campbell Taggart chain of bakeries operating throughout the Southwest. Ted's headquarters will be the Campbell Taggart Research Corporation, 4049 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, Mo. He will conduct research work in 44 bakeries and does not expect to get back to Harrisburg until next summer. He also informs us that he received his Master's Degree at the University of Pittsburgh last summer.
At a meeting of the Executive Committee several weeks ago the name of Frank Eastman '06 was suggested for nomination to the Alumni Council and his name has now been submitted to fill that position.
On April 1 at the Central Y.M.CA. in Harrisburg the Club met to entertain the men who had returned from school for their spring vacations. We were glad to have with us 3 Harrisburg boys and a boy from Lebanon. They are: Jack Hannestad '40; Jack Berkley '43; George Tilloson '43, and Al Coons '43. All of these men gave short talks on their impressions gathered during their stay in college. It was interesting to note the comparison between the remarks of the senior and those of the freshman. In addition to those men the following were present: H. G. Van Riper '14, President; Charles Boak '32, John Lyon '35, Dick Gerstell '33, Gus Hull '37, Ed Elsenhans '35, George Foss '97, Bill Page 'O6, Dick Spong '36, Mr. Howard Berkley, Mr. Percy Tilloson and your correspondent.
Through the efforts of our President "Van" Van Riper luncheon meetings of several members of the Club have been started every Monday and from the interest shown it will probably not be long until these weekly luncheons will have grown into real gatherings.
It is also good to report that the finances of the Club are coming along in much better shape and we think we will soon be able to report some definite
accomplishment in this line.
