AT A VERY SUCCESSFUL DINNER on April 5 the Club elected new officers for the year of 1940-1941. The group includes a number of local luminaries among the younger alumni. It is headed by Gus Wiedenmayer '29, Newark's excise commissioner, ably seconded by Josh Davis '27, possessor of so much energy and ability that he can lend a hand here in his home state as well as across the river, and Gus Perkins '21, who is always ready when there is a tough job to be done. Repeaters are Gordon Carver '31, who has done such a swell job on our monthly luncheons that attendance is consistently more than any previous year, Jack MacKechnie '31, custodian of our meager supply of dollars, and the secretary.

The complete list is as follows: President, Gustave E. Wiedenmayer '29; Ist Vice President, Joshua A. Davis '27; 2nd Vice President, Sumner A. Perkins '21; Secretary, Donald A. Simpson '32; Assistant Secretary, Gordon M. Carver '31; Treasurer, John G. MacKechnie '31; Board of governors—all past presidents and Louis V. Wilcox '23, Bleecker R. Williams '26, Robert E. Cleary '26, G. Warren French '30, William F. Blanchard '30, John S. Marden '33, Harry V. Osborne Jr. '33, Moe Frankel '34.

Dean Neidlinger and Professor Frank M. Anderson were our speakers and Julius A. Rippel '23 presided as outgoing president. The Dean spoke informally on the present mental state of the student body, contrasting it with past years. Professor Anderson was thought-provoking on the subject of the European War.
