That the Dartmouth frosh were able to score a 26-6 victory over Harvard is a feather in the respective caps of coaches Ossie Cowles, Johnny Handrahan, and John Dell Isola. The Crimson squad outweighed the Green yearlings and outmanned them at every position. But the Little Greens showed the same stubborn determination that brought them an early season win over Boston College and were able to rout the Cantabs. The battle with the Harvard frosh brought to light a capable Dartmouth freshman back, Gunnar Reynolds. Reynolds scored two touchdowns to lead the Indians to victory. Captain Hal Lewis, the 215-pound left tackle, and left end John Monahan again proved themselves to be the bulwarks of the Dartmouth team. Center Norm Brown and end Roy Duke were others who turned in good performances in the line while Charley Holt, tailback, and hard-hitting fullback George Pulliam established themselves as gridsters who might help future varsity elevens at Dartmouth.
