Tommy Dent's soccer team apparently has lost its fight to gain top honors in the soccer league this season—through a defeat suffered at the hands of Springfield College's hooters 1-0. It was a bitter defeat for the Indians as a team and also for senior Dick Deane, the team's high scorer, who was playing before his home town crowd at Springfield. Not definitely out of the fight yet, the Dentmen came back with a 5-3 victory over Tufts on November 8 on the home field here at Hanover. While looking at the records it is indeed worthy to note that November 8 was a gala day for all Dartmouth sports. The varsity football team defeated Princeton, the freshman gridsters turned back Harvard's frosh, the cross-country team won the Heptagonal meet, and the soccer team whipped Tufts—not a bad day for any college.
