Hastings Lyon has retired from his professorship at Columbia University, and is now living at 10 McClellan Street, Amherst, Mass.
Harry and Grace have joined the grandparents' fraternity, as Anthony Milgress Gilmore, son of Harry and Mrs. Jr., was born July 17, 1942. Dr. Bunker Bishop was the attending MD.
There are two marriages to record this month, that of Eleanor Hathaway to Frank Northy Patterson, at Lawrence, Mass., August 21, 1942, and Miss Elsie LeFevre, to Kimball Parker Hall, at St. Thomas Church, N. Y., August 15, 1942.
Gardy Cobb has purchased "Stonehouse," largest private estate in Holden, Mass., and one rich in historical lore. It is located in central Massachusetts, on a hill overlooking the Holden reservoir, and has been a landmark for years. The main house, built of field stones, is very large, and the reception hall has a capacity of three hundred persons. The entire estate covers about 300 acres. Gardy has recently been appointed Pediatrician at the Hahnemann Hospital at Worcester, Mass.
