Joe Antrim of Stevensville, Montana is right busy these days. The draft has left him short-handed and his sheep are lambing. Joe has recently taken on a lot of pureblooded Hereford stock. There's the small consideration of fencing to be kept up, winter feed to be got in and the two thousand and other two things a rancher has to look after. Joe says the hunting is real good, there being mountain goat, big horn sheep, elk, deer, moose, grouse and pheasant in his area. For those who like to fish, there are trout.

Bill Jenkins called on Don Lyman this last summer. Bill was out in the Twin Cities on a big defense contract in the interests of G. E. Our William nailed it up like a cooper going 'round a barrel.

Ford Barrett, that Spokane realtor, who has to drive the customers off the office steps every morning because of the defense boom, took delivery on his second son as of July 4, 1941. Ford was singing the older boy, Barry Barrett, to sleep the other night with a series of Dartmouth songs and as the finis, gave a most moving rendition of "Dartmouth Undying." The unappreciative two and one-half year old Barry then requested "Ring Around Rosie." The thumping sound you hear is Ford beating his head against the mantelpiece of his beautiful new Spokane home.

Sherm Barnett, wife and children have just moved into their new home in Glencoe. Sherm is a precinct captain in civilian defense work in Glencoe, as is Gair Tourtellot.

Dan Slawson is now in New Orleans and is heading north with a set of tires "as sleek' as the heads in the front row of the

average musical show." Neil Williams is alleged to have signed with the Navy, but in what capacity and where he's heading we know not.

Tige Lyon and his 200 defense houses in Waukegan are coming nicely. Tige is only architect, contractor and sole-selling agent on the job. He keeps up his law practice, is air raid warden, does his hunting and fishing and treads around at night now and then.

Curt Wright announces the arrival of his first, Eleanor Wickersham (Wickie) Wright on February 19, 1942.

Rog Wycoff is another proud pappa, with a second daughter.

Paul Hommeyer is being called to active service. Paul has been a reserve officer for a number of years.

Twist Elmquist has been on the Minnesota Defense Force for the past sixteen months and is now Line Sergeant of the 1st Platoon of a machine gun company. Twist is also on the publicity end of civilian defense work and writes that he gave his first talk the other day to—hold onto your hats—a group of Negro women. What price a color shot of the golden haired Twist lecturing that delegation?

The Twin City group claims no snow out there this winter, so, little skiing.

Helen and Don Lyman gave a buffet supper for the Dartmouths before the Dartmouth-Minnesota hockey game this past winter.

Lyle McKown is not doing himself any harm in the insurance business. He is supposed to be one of the best all-around insurance men in Minnesota.

Len Larson is doing a swell job with the University of Chicago Defense Training Work.

Gardner Howe is trade analyst at the Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust. He is still single and can hear the approaching shooting. Anybody got a nice colonelcy for him?

Jack Reeder has been commissioned a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy.

Barney Barnfather got his Master's in Spanish this past summer. Due to the friendly neighbor policy with South America his department is tremendously busy at Culver. He is living about one mile from the Academy, walks both ways and the rubber situation does not bother him. He is getting in a fair amount of hunting and fishing.

Lou Kimball went into Phillips House in Boston on March 8 and expected to be there about three weeks to have his interior rebushed, relined and tightened up.

'25ers at the alumni dinner at the Roosevelt in New York included Jim Adams, Jack Davis, Ralph Udall, Bob Cubbins, Larry Larrabee, Jack Reeder, Curt Abel, Ross Pearl, Doug Archibald, Frank Kennedy, Bob Hardy, Frank VanOrman, Walter VonKehn, Bob Misch, Deah Blodgett, Martin Huberth, Mickey Montgomery and Bill Griffin.

And on the 32nd day of February the Eddie Blakes were made glad-hearted (that's a good old country newspaper phrase) by the arrival Peter Warren Blake.

They aint much happened here sence the last writing. We had our annuwil Tawon Meeting and the Republicans wun. They was sum tawk of corrupshun, but you boys knowing me, know that I wouldn't be mixed up with no such goings on. When they caounted the vote they found wun Democrat ballet. The Mod- erator he held it up with a pair uv fire tongs and hollered "Who put that confouwnded thing in here?" Nobody wouldn't step up and own it. Pret Smart, '24, our Taown Caouncil, he ruled that if nobody wouldn't own it wht twant legitimate nor legil and we hove it out.
