SEVERAL HAVE MENTIONED how much John Sloan Dickey now looks as Ernest Martin Hopkins did look in the fall of 1916. Henry Embree '30 was home after two years in the Pacific and expects shortly to be out of the Navy. Cal Billings '28 and. Slurry Hubbard '32 have been stationed here for some time. Edmund B. Abbott '28 was released from service a little ahead of V-J.; Robert Mortimer '47 was in town on his way from Hamburg, Germany, to Shoemaker, Calif. Charley Crathern '20 was here for a few days. Both he and his wife are licensed airplane pilots. Bob Burnap '94, the originator of the Chicago Scholarship Fund, was here for several weeks. Jack Holliday '43 is out of the Marine Air Corps and married to Lianne Lytel, the Conover model who did the Army Nurse Corps ad. Sandy McCreery '44 of Denver and George Pierce '46 of West Newton were in radio school on Navy pier. Jack Tope '44, a senior at Northwestern University Medical School, is engaged to Midge Hermann of Northwestern. Buzz Farrar '45 is a junior while Bob Nystrom '44, John Mock '44 and Ted Mortimer '44 are seniors at Northwestern Medical. Benge Carlson '43 is interning at Cook County Hospital. Carol and Edward McKinlay '42 have a son, Douglas. John Pine '45 is doing graduate work at the University of Chicago. He and Harriet Rollin of Durham, N. H., expect to be married on September 15 which also is the day set for the wedding of David Carroll '42 and Jane Helen Mork '42 of Rosemont College and Northwestern. Carroll was a Navy pilot in everything from Guadalcanal to Saipan. Rick Crabtree '45, a 118-mission pilot in the Army, will return to Hanover with his bride in November to complete the work for his degree.
