As both Thanksgiving and election time approach, one is moved to think of stuffed turkeys. To most Americans, one's candidate's election will help buy them a turkey while the other will give them the "bird" for nothing. Oh well, how many arguments will there be at the dining room table between you and your wife over whose mother-in-law made the best stuffing? Make sure you have the Alka-Seltzer handy also. Now for the news:

Hall of Fame: Dr. Stan Roman is medical director of all ambulatory care services at the new 29 million dollar outpatient center at Boston City Hospital. This gleaming, ultramodern facility is affiliated with the Boston University School of Medicine which, since 1973, has held sole responsibility for overall supervision of care for all municipal hospital patients. According to a June 13, 1976 article in the Boston Globe, B.C.H.'s professional medical and surgical staff are all members of the medical school's faculty, so I assume Stan also teaches at B.U. Medical School. The new ambulatory care center is being billed as "a new world" to efficiently serve walk-in patients. I quote the article as follows: "Dr. Roman noted that special color-coded wall graphics will help guide patients to their destination ..." Stan, what color and type of graphics did you choose to direct patients to the rest-room areas?

George Estabrook writes that he has just been promoted to associate professor of botany (with tenure) by the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He has also been elected vice president of ARS MUSICA, a baroque chamber orchestra. He married Bronwen E. Gates July 28, 1976. George is now trying to change the U. of Michigan's mascot from the wolverines to fighting venus fly traps.

In June of '76, (sorry about the delay) Lehigh University announced Dr. Bennett Eisenberg was promoted to the rank of associate professor of mathematics and granted tenure. His promotion took effect September 1, 1976, so I'm not too late with the news. Bennett joined the Lehigh faculty in 1972, after serving as an instructor at Cornell U. and a visiting assistant professor of math at the U. of New Mexico. Bennett is also married to the former Jeanine Comfort from Ithaca, N.Y. He earned his Ph.D. at M.I.T. Bennett, will you teach me how to use a slide rule?

General Babbling: Steve Blecher, our keeper of the coffers, writes that in late April while vacationing in St. Maarten, he and Amy ran into Ellen and Sabin Danziger. Thank God no one was hurt. Sabin, or for those of you who only knew him as "Saby Baby," has switched firms to Shields, Model Roland, where he is an institutional salesman. (Anyone with an institution for sale contact- Saby direct.) Steve says that upon having a group picture taken for the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, the camera blew up so therefore no camera, let alone any picture.

Lee Foote updates my files as follows: Lee received his M.B.A. from Columbia in 1965, then started with Dupont's treasurer's department. He remarried in August of '72 and then transferred to Bogota, Columbia, where he became treasurer of Dupont's companies in Columbia and Peru. In March of this year he returned to Wilmington where he is a manager in the financing of Dupont's large ventures in Iran. Lee has two daughters and was expecting a third child in September. (I have no details regarding the birth since I received his note in July.) With all those kids, Lee, you should change your last name to Feete. (Ho, Ho.) The Foote family lives in a 200-year-old Pennsylvania farm house with two horses, one dog, and one cat. Fox hunting is one of his interests. (It was at Dartmouth too.)

Alas, Margo and Bob Freeman have good news to report and I quote Margo: "We've been waiting to write until our news 'arrived,' which it finally did on September 9. Number two child, number one son, named Clayton Bradley! He has very proud parents and a somewhat skeptical older sister who is adjusting slowly!" Now I cannot understand why they didn't name their son Melvin. After all, Bob has preferred to be called "Mel" for years.

Bob Reidy writes after finishing his retinal fellowship at the Boston Eye and Ear Hospital, he moved with his wife Kathleen and their two children (Kristin 6, Tim 5) to Albuquerque to become chief of ophthalmology at the University of New Mexico Medical School. Bob has developed exercises for the eye so that when you wink at a girl you will not pull an eye muscle.

Steve "what's a cup?" Bachman was kind enough to send me a long letter of which I am forced to make a precis. Steve received his M.B.A. at Boston University and went on to Philadelphia with Container Corp. of America. There, as a hobby, he ran the Mainline Hockey Club. He then moved on to Baltimore with C.C.A. and has continued to play hockey (for the last four seasons) for the National Brewers. He is known as iron man for he has played in 115 straight games without injury and does not wear a cup. The team has a 30-game schedule playing clubs and colleges in the Baltimore area. Steve hopes that anyone wishing to further amateur hockey in the Baltimore area will contact him since this is one of his passions now (he must have been hit just once you know where). The Bachmans are a family of five: himself, wife Carol, Linda 7, Sally 5, and Billy 3. Steve is now plant controller at C.C.A.'s Baltimore plant. He says he saw his old roommate Jack Kaufmsin and his wife Betsy a few times. They live in Pelham, N.Y. Well that's it for this month kids, let's all keep our fingers crossed for a good football season.
