Some of our class may be interested to know that part of the novel Also the Hills by Frances Parkinson Keyes, published in 1943, is laid in the home of our classmate Daniel Carr. In "The Author's Note" she states that Dan and his wife gave her valuable assistance in their endeavor to interpret the rural scene. The "Plan of the Homestead in Farman Hill" (Farman Hill is a fictitious name), the scene of a part of the novel, was drawn by Dan, and is an exact diagram of his home. The end papers in the book are reproductions of some of the frescoed walls in his house, which are mentioned many times in the novel.
