It was late in June before we received the news of the death of Don Bliss, which explains why my class letter was not sent earlier. Don Jr. was able to fly over from London and be with his mother for several weeks before returning. Mrs. Bliss will live at the New Biloxi Hotel, Biloxi, Miss., for the present.
On June 25, Alex Salinger's partners and associates in his firm of Fish, Richardson and Weave surprised him with a celebration marking the 50th anniversary of his association with the firm. At a luncheon in the Dickens Room at the Parker House he was presented with a handsome pen and pencil set and listened to remarks from his associates which probably made him blush, but which we know he richly deserved.
Gaf will be at Sugar Hill during July.
Mrs. Strong and I will be at the Garnet Inn, Center Harbor, N. H., through August, and would be delighted to see any of you who wander that way.
Secretary and Treasurer, Longwood Towers, Brookline, Mass.
